Chrome Fail to Respond

Version 67.0.3396.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Whatever I upload or download files from Chrome, it will fail to respond and I must restart the browser to contunue use it.
It's fine if I do not upload or download files.
And other browsers in my computer is fine. Only Chrome will no response.
What's wrong with Chrome?

I have already reinstalled the latest version of Chrome Browser twice and restart my computer 3 times.
And problems still there.
Chrome do not find harmful softwares in my computer.
I am sure I haven't installed new plugins or extensions that may do harm to Chrome.

I can post new themes in Google and watch youtube viedos. So my network is fine.
This is a chrome-specific problem. I am nearly broken involving in this situation.
I don't want to use other browsers. Please help me.

I'd suggest creating a new browser profile:

Exit Google Chrome completely.
Enter the keyboard shortcut Windows key+E to open Windows Explorer.
In the Windows Explorer window that appears enter the following in the address bar Windows Vista/ Windows 7/ Windows 8/ Windows 10:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\
Locate the folder called "Default" in the directory window that opens and rename it as "Backup default."
Try opening Google Chrome again. A new "Default" folder is automatically created as you start using the browser.
If you wish, you can transfer information from your old user profile to your new one. However, this action is not recommended, since a part of your old profile may be corrupt. With that in mind, to transfer your old bookmarks, copy the "Bookmarks.bak" file from the "Backup default" folder to your new "Default" folder. Once moved, rename the file from "Bookmarks.bak" to "Bookmarks" to complete the migration. All other browser data will remain in the "Backup default" folder, but you won't be able to transfer it to your new profile.

我觉得 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\` 这个步骤应该挺特殊，稳妥起见，我用它当做关键词，搜索更多的信息，然后找到了这个：

也就是说，使用这个步骤，能帮我解决问题，但有可能带来新的问题：书签和扩展程序也许会消失。

那我接下来的步骤要做调整：

1. 导出备份 Google Chrome 的书签和扩展程序（记录一下），尤其是 OneTab 保存到本地。再复制一份配置和属性文件到 U 盘
2. 完全退出 Google Chrome
3. 打开 Windows Explorer
4. 在地址栏输入 Windows 7: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\
5. 找到“Default”这个文件夹，重命名成“Backup default”
6. 重启 Google Chrome，会自动生成一个新的“Default”文件夹

最终的解决办法

1. 去 Chrome Downloads 这个网站下载 win7 64 位 stable 安装包（其实我下载了 64 位稳定版、dev 版，还有 32 位稳定版，以便不时之需）
2. 控制面板卸载 Google Chrome，删除个人配置和记录，再清理一遍垃圾和注册表信息，然后重启电脑；
3. 安装 64 位稳定版，试验一下好不好用……（我以为这法子不行，还考虑需不需要安装 32 位的，没想到直接装 64 位的就解决问题了……幸福来得太突然）

This isn't a problem exclusively with google docs, though that's an issue too, but with chrome entirely.
I can't download or upload any files from or to chrome at all. Any time I try to download something, it just does nothing. No green bar, no pop-up if I say to save something, nothing.
And Any time I try to upload something, the tab just freezes. Not "not-responding" no crash, just frozen like a picture for no reason.
Someone please help with this, it's basically made me unable ot use google chrome for anything.
I tried clearing my cache, and that fixed the problem temporarily. Now, after it randomly started happening again, it won't fix it again. I've tried a reset and a full reinstall, and nothing seems to be working.
I've run a virus check and come up with nothing. Firefox does let me download things, this is a chrome-specific problem.

3. Try to "Upload a file"

What is the expected behavior?

1. Website says "loading".
2. The file gets uploaded to the system.

Win10 Chrome Freeze

I installed Windows 10 a few weeks ago and Google Chrome seemed to work fine. Over the last week when I am browsing with two or three tabs open if I want to close a tab Chrome freezes. I then have to go to the X at the right of the screen and close. Before it closes it says along the top of the screen 'Google Chrome is not responding'. A box appears where I have the option to wait or close the program. I have waited in the past and nothing happens, so I always click 'close the program'. It then says windows is looking for a solution and closes down all tabs to my start screen. If I click on Google Chrome again it will give me the option to restore. This is becoming very annoying and I cannot understand why it has just started. My version of Chrome is 45.0.2454.93 m. Any help would be appreciated!

Please follow the steps below, one at a time, to see if it helps:

• Clear your cookies and cache
• Try Incognito/private（匿名/无痕） window
• Do a Chrome browser reset

Amanda, there must be something on your computer, such as your firewall or virus software or an ad blocker that's interfering with Chrome. I suggest disabling these to try to determine which is the culprit（罪犯、肇事者）. If a complete reinstall of Chrome didn't fix it, then it would point to something on your Windows computer that's causing a conflict.

31.0 issue

Why the quotes? To make a long story short: there was a line of code intended to prevent a warning message from old Internet Explorer versions.

留一个我的提问链接作纪念：Chrome Fail to Respond

我用中文搜“Chrome 未响应”、“Chrome 上传下载文件 未响应”、“Chrome 下载文件失败”，只能搜索到 5 个相关网页，其中还有 2-3 个是百度知道的水答案，对解决问题的帮助有限。

后来想到去 Google Chrome 的帮助论坛，发现这里面是清一色的英文。才想到要用英文去搜索问题。

在 Google 网页里搜索“Google Chrome No Responce”“Google Chrome Not Resoponding”。在论坛已解决问题里查找“upload”“download”“response”“respond”，找到了好几篇帖子。

1. 善用英文关键词搜索
2. 学好英文，好处多多
3. 在万金油解决方案里误打误撞，也许莽汉也能搞定精细活……不要小看别人喔
4. 穷尽基础问题的各类边边角角，这也是体现功力的地方呐（回退版本 而非 升级到最新版本）
5. 基础打扎实，甚至做到很厉害，也许就用不到高阶的解决方案了，再不济也会让你提高效率
